ev·o·lu·tion - ev-uh-loo-shuhn –noun
1. any process of formation or growth; development (From Dictionary.com)
This communication outreach started about a year ago on June 22, 2009. It has been my privilege to be used by the Holy Spirit in these writings. I only pray you've been as blessed to receive them as I have been to send them.
I have reposted the original mailing because I recognize the need to revisit the vision from time to time. Also, if you want to evolve, you've got to know where you started.
With that in mind, there's a funny thing about a lifeline; reaching out is only half the purpose. The other half is pulling in to safety. For the last year, I feel confident that you've been reached. Now, and moving forward, there will be a pull on the other end.
Dear ones, encouragement is only part of the story. Real growth comes from being connected and active in a ministry that is invested in your spiritual growth.
So, first and foremost, if you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, the charge is to believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that He is Lord. No special prayer. No particular antics. You don't have to do anything but believe and confess (Romans 10:9).
For those who know Jesus as Lord, growth comes from relationship. Relationship comes from communication, involvement and work. Think of the friends you have. Some of them you know through work or school. You can't claim to know them well because you don't spend any real time together.
Then there are those you know well. Why? Because of the time you spend time together. You talk together. You work together. You've been through good times and bad times together. Your relationship is well defined and strong. This is the life that Jesus seeks for you to have with Him. Not just association, but relationship.
If you are not growing, you may not be planted. I invite you to 'plant' yourself at that chuch you've just been attending. Get active and get to work. If you do not have a church home, you are welcome to join us at Fellowship. Trust me, we have room for you to work.
So, are you ready to evolve?
Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. Hosea 6:1
A lifeline can mean different things. It can be a phone call from a friend, access to cash, completing an education or a literal line used to rescue someone.
Lifeline is the name of the evangelistic ministry of Fellowship Church in Jonesboro , GA. Through this ministry, we want to offer THE lifeline that is all that you need; Jesus the Christ. He is the literal life saving line; He is the tie that binds your heart and heals your wounds. He is the line that leads to the Father. He is the Life Line.
This email is part of our outreach. Through weekly mailings we seek to offer encouragement. Through special mailings we will let you know what’s happening at Fellowship Church. All of this is with the goal of throwing you a lifeline to help you continue to grow in your walk in Christ, or offer you a vehicle and community to start your walk with Him.
We welcome your feedback, your input and your prayers. I pray this is a blessing and hope that you will share it with friends as time moves on.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
