Just More Praise - Stand the Watch

Habakkuk 2:1-4

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Stand the Watch
In the Body of Christ, we are all given a task...a watch.  Each and every one of us has an assignment.  In truth, every living person has an assignment; but those of us who have accepted salvation have literally volunteered our service.

We have a watch.  And with a watch, our duty is to stand the watch.

Whatever the watch is, that's the calling.  If we are called to be a Pastor, then we must pastor. Called to teach?  Teach.  Called to serve?  Serve.  Called to feed?  Feed. Called to clean up?  You get it.

Good times, bad times, cooperative times, teeth pulling times.  We are to do the thing we're called to do. Sometimes the work can seem thankless and hard. And yet, if we're honest with ourselves, it's not the work.  It's us.

Thanks came at the cross, and is expressed everyday from a loving, devoted Father.  And as far as the work being hard, more times than not it's that the work...the work we're designed to do... it's not that it is hard.  It's that it clashes with our own agendas.

Think about it...sharks don't tire of swimming.  Migrating geese don't get  together and decide 'lets walk instead of flying'. Trees don't bend over and take a nap.  Dogs don't meow.  Cows don't produce orange juice.  When we're designed to do something, we function at our absolute best when we're doing it.

Loved ones, service to the Father isn't hard.  Yielding is.  And when we remember that we are not responsible for the results, just our obedience, it takes all the pressure off us, and gives all the glory to Him.

Stand your watch.  Do the work assigned.  Be in the right place at the right time as He has designed. Follow after the Holy Spirit, even when His leading makes no earthly sense.  Don't worry about the means or the ends. All that God intended from our labor will come to pass.  Though it tarry, just do the work.

Be blessed.

And please forgive my absence.  I will stand my watch.

Habakkuk 3:17-19

17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
19 The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

PASSIONS Are you like so many of us in our world today, who ask the questions: What's my purpose for being here? What's my passion?

A Year of Praise - Post 15

A Year of Praise - Post 15 - Yes, I'm catching up...because He's worthy of all praise!

Psalm 16

16 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

A Year of Praise - Post 14

Psalm 24

24 The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

A Year of Praise - Post 13

A blessing for each of you....

Numbers 6:22-27

22 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

If you haven't yet, I encourage you to put on the name of the Lord.
Peace.

A Year of Praise - Post 12

A Year of Praise, Post 12 - ALL THINGS

Romans 8:28

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
There are so many rallying cries in the Word of God, but this one should keep us going.  All things.   So all those planned, unplanned, pleasant, unpleasant, desired, avoided, expected and unexpected things...they ALL work together for good to God's group...the called according to HIS purpose.  Not my purpose.  Not your purpose, but HIS purpose.
What a blessing.
